Thank you, Bill! Your substack has been an inspiration as well.

Greetings from Canada, Madam Klein!

You have been an inspiration to me for years. I would have far less faith in a potentially sane future had I not read “this changes everything.”

That is still my favourite document since “the waffle manifesto”.

I hope Avy has read and absorbed everything you’ve ever written, and added that truth to what his own amazing family has taught him over generations

With you and Avy Lewis working in the same direction, it’s a lot easier to see how the international fascism train could crash and burn.

Thanks for doing what you do, thanks for becoming a Canadian, and welcome to substack.

Please consider ben meisalas and “meidas touch network” as an additional platform to connect with people. He and his brothers only started the podcast during the pandemic, and now have 7 million subscribers world-wide. You would be a great asset for meidas and could reach a very large audience who believe in democracy and the rule of law, and who want to end fascism and corruption.

Thanks Naomi … I’m wishing you the best in your new podcast world.

Welcome to Substack Naomi, I think you'll find this to be a prolific, critical, and sensitive ecosystem and that your words will have great resonance here. I wanted to draw your attentionto a fact that hasn't gotten much attention in the world stage but promisses to impact global geopolitcs big time: The recent "election" of far right candidate Abelardo de la Espriella to the Office of President of Colombia. I quote unquote election because by every standard it was a highly fraudulent election. Trump openly interfered (and in all likelyhood Neatnyahu) providing millions of USD to buy votes. That's easy to do in our little banana republic. This happens at the heels of our first democratically elected left wing president, Gustavo Petro. His administration payed off foreign debt, reduced poverty to the lowest level in a centrury, implemented a big labor reform and funded higher education programs big time. The dollar is at a record low for the past 20 years and the Colombian market at a historic high. De la Eapriella has promissed fracking and minning throughout our most biodiverse territories and ofcourse will open his legs so Trump can extact water, oil and rare minerals. We are also ofcourse a geographical strategic location being at the heart of the Americas. He has already threatened to fill the streets with ICE -like paramilitary and literally promised to " disembowel the left". With Venezuela already in Trump's grip and Ecuador in the hands io far right Noboa, I'm afraid Colombia will see a very very ominous four years. I don't know what this note is. Perhaps it's an SOS for you to attract the attention of the international community to Colombia's current plight. As a 60 y/o female physycian I have not lived a single day of total peace in my country and am very concerned for our safety. I actually had a panic attack after the results of the elections were obvious, I couldn't sleep for three weeks straight. Its part of my PTSD. If you learn a little Colombian historyory you'll understand.

thanks for sharing this idea, I plan to dig into this at length. It's terrifying and I am sending you all my solidarity. So much progress had been made, and now this...

Your book Shock Doctrine prepared me as best as possible for this era. Thank you for your work!

So great to see you, here, Naomi. I agree with John Berger (another great mind) that reading Shock Doctrine made me calm. I’d been going a bit crazy and then read it and I felt that finally I wasn’t mad and that the things I’d been thinking and feeling had reasons. It’s a fantastic piece of research and writing and I’ve passed it on to many people. Living in 2010 UK I watched as the new government used the financial crash to institute austerity, slash funding to all public goods and bring in the same types of disaster capitalist projects as outlined in the book. Heard Cameron using identical language to Abbot and Harper… As a Palestinian, watching Gaza and the Peace Board - it’s DC on steroids. Looking forward to what you bring to this community.

Thank you for sharing this Rayya. I agree that the disgraceful Board of Peace is the ultimate expression of Disaster Capitalism, where it has all been leading perhaps. We unpack it in the upcoming book, because it is truly apocalyptic. Good thing we can still find each other.

Congratulations on Patterns Naomi.

I smiled when I saw you had launched here and loved your story about how we can find you in the bookstore.

BTW, I recently completed my PhD at UBC, and in my acknowledgements thanked you as my "unofficial committee member." Our conversations at UBC and Roundhouse Radio genuinely helped shape my scholarship.

Heartfelt thanks for continuing to help us make sense of the world.
